About ATLift

ATLift is a free mobile application built by student developers under the mentorship and advisement of Shana Sanders, Founder & CEO, on behalf of We Create Tech, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Decatur, Georgia (EIN: 87-4506890).

ATLift was developed at the Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Fulton County Central Library, located at 1 Margaret Mitchell Square NW, Atlanta, GA 30303, in partnership with the Best Buy Foundation.

ATLift is a community resource directory designed to help individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Atlanta metro area connect with shelters, food, healthcare, jobs, legal aid, and other essential services.

ATLift is free to use. We are a nonprofit. We do not run ads. We do not sell data. These terms exist to protect both you and us.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ATLift mobile application or website (atlift.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use ATLift. You may use ATLift as a guest without creating an account, which limits some features but does not require agreeing to additional terms beyond what is stated here.

Use of the App

ATLift is provided as a free community service. You agree to use ATLift only for its intended purpose: finding and accessing community resources in the Atlanta area.

You agree not to:

  • Use ATLift for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app or its backend systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest resource data
  • Misrepresent yourself or provide false information when creating an account
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the app or its servers

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms.

Resource Information Disclaimer

Important: ATLift provides resource information as a community service only. We do not operate, endorse, manage, or guarantee the services of any organization listed in the app.

Resource information including hours, availability, eligibility requirements, and contact details may change without notice. ATLift makes reasonable efforts to keep information current but cannot guarantee accuracy at all times.

  • Always call ahead to confirm a resource is available before visiting
  • ATLift does not provide medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice
  • For medical emergencies, call 911
  • For crisis support, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 211 (United Way)
  • For immediate shelter needs after hours, call Atlanta 311 or United Way 211

Accounts and Authentication

ATLift offers optional account creation for a personalized experience. You may also use ATLift as a guest without creating an account.

If you create an account:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
  • You agree to provide accurate information during registration
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account
  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@atlift.org
  • We will delete your account data within 30 days of a deletion request

Intellectual Property

ATLift, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is the intellectual property of We Create Tech, Inc. and its student developers. All rights reserved.

The ATLift app is built on open-source technologies including React Native, Expo, Leaflet, and OpenStreetMap, each governed by their respective licenses.

Resource listings in ATLift are compiled from publicly available information and direct outreach to organizations. We do not claim ownership of any third-party organization's information.

Limitation of Liability

ATLift is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, We Create Tech, Inc. shall not be liable for:

  • Any inaccuracies in resource information
  • Any inability to access a resource listed in the app
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of ATLift
  • Any interruption or unavailability of the app or its services

Because ATLift is a free nonprofit service, our total liability to any user for any claim shall not exceed zero dollars ($0).

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of DeKalb County, Georgia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service as ATLift grows and evolves. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app and update the "Last Updated" date above.

Continued use of ATLift after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may stop using the app at any time.
